The Amarillo (Tex.) Symphony has announced the appointment of COREY COWART as executive director. He was most recently vice president of development at the Minnesota Opera, and prior to assuming that post in 2013 spent six years with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as senior director of development. Cowart began his career as a freelance trombonist in the Houston area. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in trombone performance from the University of Houston and the Yale School of Music.
