The Taki Concordia Conducting Fellowship, established in 2002 by conductor Marin Alsop to provide mentoring, career support, and performance opportunities to early-career women conductors, has announced the selection of VALENTINA PELEGGI as Taki Concordia Conducting Fellow for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. MARZENA DIAKUN and RUTH REINHARDT have been named associate fellows, and honorable mention goes to LIDIYA YANKOVSKAYA.

Valentina Peleggi is currently director of the International Festival 150 Firenze Capitale and University Choir of Florence in her native Italy. Polish conductor Marzena Diakun was recently named assistant conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonic de Radio France. Ruth Reinhardt, a native of Germany, will spend this summer as a conducting fellow at Tanglewood Music Center and subsequently serve as conducting fellow at the Seattle Symphony. Lidiya Yankovskaya, a resident of the U.S., directs the Lowell House Opera at Harvard College as well as Boston’s Commonwealth Lyric Theater and Juventas New Music Ensemble.
