This Cincinnati Pops’ summer season of concerts launched on June 6 at the Riverbend Music Center, with Conductor John Morris Russell leading a “Broadway Singalong,” with Cincinnati’s Young Professional Choral Collective, vocalists Julia Murney and Doug La Brecque, and winners of the “Cincy Sings” regional choral competition. Community concerts will be offered at three locations: Prouty Plaza in Troy, Ohio (June 25), Miami Whitewater Forest in Harrison, Ohio (July 1), and the Fayette County Fair in Washington Court House, Ohio (July 20). The Pops will perform on July 3 at Great American Ball Park, immediately following a Cincinnati Reds home game; tickets are free to all game ticketholders and the performance will be accompanied by fireworks. On July 4 at Riverbend, the orchestra will perform its annual “Red, White & Boom!” concert, also featuring fireworks, with folk singer/songwriter Aoife O’Donovan, baritone Nmon Ford, the May Festival Chorus, and the USO Show Troupe.
