The Cincinnati Symphony and Columbus Symphony youth orchestras will both perform on June 13 at Carnegie Hall. On the first half of the concert, Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra Conductor William White will lead two works by Alfred Schnittke: the “Agitato” from The Story of an Unknown Actor Suite, and (k)ein Sommernachstraum. The Cincinnati musicians will also perform selections from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet and one of White’s own compositions, Symphonic Essay No. 3. Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra Conductor Peter Stafford Wilson will lead the Columbus musicians in Brahms’s Academic Festival Overture, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite (1919 version), and Lowell Liebermann’s Nocturne.
