“The Springfield Symphony ends its 80th consecutive season, ‘Tour Your World—Hear Your Symphony’ with record-high single ticket sales for the nine subscription concert season,” reads an unsigned article in Sunday’s (7/5) Marshfield Mail (Marshfield, Missouri). “ ‘I’m thrilled that we’ve broken our single ticket sales record for the second year in a row,’ said Kyle Wiley Pickett, music director/conductor for the Springfield Symphony. ‘Our numbers tell us that more and more people every year are showing up to enjoy a night at their symphony in their community. That means we’re doing something right. We are attracting more patrons every year by playing great music and making our concerts appealing and exciting. And we’re going to keep doing just that!’ The Springfield Symphony’s 2015-2016 season, ‘Heroes and Legends,’ begins Saturday, Sept. 19. Season tickets are currently on sale.”
