Mellon Foundation…. Twelve grants totaling $198,100 provide support for U.S.-based professional classical and world music ensembles and presenters for the creation and performance of new chamber works by American composers.” The twelve presenter/composer pairings are Altius Quartet/Michael Ippolito; Art of Elan and Formosa Quartet/Lei Liang; Beijing Guitar Duo/Chen Yi; Carpe Diem String Quartet/Reza Vali; Ekmeles/Christopher Trapani; Haven Trio/Jon Magnussen; Kenari Quartet/Corey Dundee; Mobius Percussion/Jacob Cooper; So Percussion/Paul Lansky; TAK Ensemble/Mario Diaz de Leon; Wild Rumpus/Dan VanHassel; and Yarn/Wire/Alex Mincek. Nine jazz ensembles will receive a total of $277,000.
