JOHN KIESER has been named executive vice president and provost of the New World Symphony, the Miami Beach-based orchestral academy. He will direct the institution’s Musician Advancement program, working closely with Artistic Director Michael Tilson Thomas in planning and implementing the NWS Fellows’ musical and professional development; creating online educational programming; and building relationships within the orchestral and educational communities. Kieser, most recently general manager of the San Francisco Symphony, brings 35 years of experience to the NWS as an orchestra administrator, a musician, and a developer of educational curricula and media initiatives.
