The San Diego Symphony has named JOAN CUMMING vice president of marketing and communications, effective August 31. She is currently vice president of public relations and communications at the Music Center of Los Angeles County; prior posts include vice president of marketing and communications, Los Angeles Philharmonic; director of marketing and communications, Los Angeles Opera; and director of marketing, La Jolla (Calif.) Playhouse.
