Christopher Wilkinson’s documentary Virtuosity, about the 30 pianists in the 2013 Cliburn Competition, will air on PBS stations on July 31 at 9pm ET. Among competitors featured in the film are Vadym Kholodenko, Beatrice Rana, Sean Chen, Fei-Fei Dong, Nikita Mndoyants, Tomoki Sakata, Alessandro Deljavan, and Steven Lin. Also shown performing during the competition are conductor Leonard Slatkin, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and the Brentano String Quartet. The film was previously been screened at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, as well as at film festivals in Seattle, Palm Springs, and Minneapolis/St. Paul.
