ELIZABETH RANSOM has been appointed assistant vice president of philanthropy, principal gifts, at the North Carolina Symphony. She goes to the orchestra from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she was most recently major gifts officer. She had previously held posts at North Carolina’s Winston-Salem and Greensboro symphony orchestras and at the Carolina Summer Music Festival. Ransom holds a bachelor’s degree in flute performance from UNC School of the Arts, and studied nonprofit management and fundraising at Salem (N.C.) College and at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Also announced by the North Carolina Symphony were two promotions. ROB MADDREY, who has spent fifteen years in fundraising and marketing with the orchestra, has been named assistant vice president of philanthropy, annual fund, and operations. EMMA WALL, who came to the NCS in 2008 as director of audience services, and was named director of marketing, sales and service in 2001, has been promoted to assistant vice president of marketing.
