Orchestra Iowa, in Cedar Rapids, has announced the appointment of JEFFREY COLLIER as chief executive officer, effective August 17. He succeeds ROBERT MASSEY, who left the orchestra in February to become president and CEO of Florida’s Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Collier was most recently executive director of the Erie (Pa.) Philharmonic, and before assuming that post in 2013 spent a year at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as a DeVos Institute of Arts Management fellow. He served as executive director of the Bismarck-Mandan (N.D.) Symphony Orchestra from 2009 to 2012. Collier holds undergraduate degrees in bassoon performance and music education from Louisiana State University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
