The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has announced three additions to its musician roster beginning in 2015-16: AUSTIN HUNTINGTON, principal cello; PETER VICKERY, assistant concertmaster; and MICHAEL MUSZYNSKI, second bassoon.

Austin Huntington is completing a bachelor’s degree at the Colburn School of Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles. Winner of the Aspen Music Festival Low Strings Competition, the Irving J. Klein International String Competition, and the Indianapolis Symphony Young Musicians Contest, Huntington has served as principal cellist in the Colburn Orchestra and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra

Peter Vickery is a member of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and previously held leadership posts with the Terre Haute (Ind.) Symphony and the Indiana University Jacobs School University and Chamber orchestras. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Jacobs and pursued further training as a fellow at Aspen Music Festival and School.

Michael Muszynski is currently principal bassoon in the South Carolina Philharmonic and in Georgia’s Symphony Orchestra Augusta, Atlanta Opera Orchestra, and Atlanta Ballet Orchestra. He also holds the second bassoon post in the Columbus (Ga.) and Greenville (S.C.) symphony orchestras. Muszynski holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in bassoon performance from Northwestern University.
