The Midland-Odessa (Texas) Symphony & Chorale has appointed JULIE ANN LINK principal bassoon. She has held positions with four Ohio orchestras—the Canton and Youngstown symphonies, the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra (Columbus), and CityMusic Cleveland—and has freelanced in New Zealand with the New Zealand and Christchurch symphonies, Orchestra Wellington, Southern Sinfonia, and Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. Link has also served as marketing and communications coordinator for the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra. She holds master’s degrees in music from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Zurich. In addition to her new orchestra post in Texas, Link will join the adjunct bassoon faculty at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (Odessa).
