The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in New York City has appointed violinist ERIC WYRICK artistic coordinator, effective with the 2015-16 season. Also announced by Orpheus was the addition to its roster of cellist JAMES WILSON, the first musician elected to the membership of this self-governing ensemble since 2012.

Eric Wyrick, a native New Yorker and graduate of the Juilliard School, is a violinist with Orpheus and is also concertmaster of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. As artistic coordinator at Orpheus he succeeds cellist JONATHAN SPITZ, who continues to play in the ensemble.

James Wilson has appeared as recitalist and chamber musician at such venues as Carnegie Hall, New York’s Lincoln Center and Washington’s Kennedy Center, Aspen Festival, the Musikverein in Vienna, the National Concert Hall in Taipei, and the Sydney Opera House. A former member of the Shanghai and Chester string quartets, he is artistic director of the Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia (Richmond) and a faculty member at Columbia University in New York and the Bennington Chamber Music Conference in Vermont.
