California’s New West Symphony and Music Director Marcelo Lehninger have announced the appointment of ALYSSA PARK as concertmaster following a year-long search. She debuts in that role October 1-3 at the orchestra’s season-opening concerts in Santa Monica, Oxnard, and Thousand Oaks. Park has appeared widely as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, and chamber musician since her professional debut at age eleven with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. In 1990, at age sixteen, she was awarded a bronze medal in Moscow’s Tchaikovsky International Competition. Park is a member of the Los Angeles-based Lyris Quartet and has recorded for the Albany Records, Naxos, ARS, and Toccata Classics labels.
