Canton Symphony gears up for football-themed “Soundtracks of the Gridiron”

“The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Canton Symphony Orchestra will team up for the first time to produce a show next month” in Canton, Ohio, reads an unsigned Wednesday (9/16) article at IndeOnline (Massillon, Ohio). “ ‘Soundtracks of the Gridiron’ will be narrated by Hall of Famer Lynn Swann and performed by the orchestra with Gerhardt Zimmermann directing. The performance will take place Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. at the Umstattd Performing Arts Hall, next to the Hall of Fame. Music from football-themed movies such as ‘Rudy’ and ‘The Blind Side’ will be performed as well as classics from NFL broadcasts. George Veras, a Hall of Fame vice president, will produce videos to go with the music. The Hall is producing the show. Swann, inducted in 2001, will also be available for a VIP reception before the concert.”
