Indiana’s South Bend Symphony Orchestra has appointed AGNIESZKA RAKHMATULLAEV executive director, effective September 28. She succeeds JANE E. HUNTER, who is retiring from the post after nine years. Rakhmatullaev served most recently as development officer at the Houston Symphony, and has performed as a violinist with orchestras in the Midwest and abroad. A native of Poland, she holds a master’s degree in violin performance from the University of Houston, a master’s in orchestral studies from Roosevelt University, and a certificate in nonprofit executive leadership from Georgetown University. Rakhmatullaev is a 2013 alumna of the League of American Orchestras’ Orchestra Management Fellowship Program. Prior to her League fellowship she held posts with the Grant Park Music Festival and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
