On October 10, the Houston Symphony and the Mexican Institute of Greater Houston will present the eleventh annual free Lunada concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre, celebrating musical influences from Spain and Latin America. Four tickets per person to the covered seating area will be will be distributed at the Miller box office on concert day from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; there will be open seating on the hill. The concert will be led by Carlos Andrés Botero, a native of Colombia for whom the concert represents his conducting debut as the orchestra’s assistant conductor and musical ambassador. Colombian baritone Blas Canedo Gonzalez will perform with the orchestra, and the program will include music by Manuel de Falla, Morton Gould, Camargo Guàrnieri, Adolfo Mejía, Silvestre Revueltas, Arturo Márquez, Pablo Ziegler, and Alejandro Tobar.
