The second of five informal Music 101 lunchtime lecture-performances by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra this season will take place at Heinz Hall on November 10, with a presentation by PSO trumpeter Chad Winkler. For the long-running series, presentations begin at 12:30pm and run one hour; audiences can bring their own bag lunch or purchase one for $9. Music 101’s first 2015-16 event took place in October with PSO cellist Adam Liu giving a talk about “East Meets West.” In February, Declan McGovern, the PSO’s vice president for orchestra operations and general manager, will speak about “Orchestral Perspectives on Both Sides of the Atlantic.” PSO violist Erina Laraby-Goldwasser and flutist Jennifer Steele will give talks about their instruments in March and April. Lectures take place in Heinz Hall’s Dorothy Porter Simmons Regency Rooms.
