The National Arts Centre (Ottawa, Canada) has named PINCHAS ZUKERMAN artistic director of its Young Artists Program and conductor emeritus of the NAC Orchestra, effective in September 2016. Zukerman, who founded the NAC Summer Music Institute in 1999, is internationally renowned as a violinist, violist, music educator, and pioneer in distance learning through the use of broadband technology. He recently stepped down as music director of the NAC Orchestra following a sixteen-year tenure.
