The Santa Rosa Symphony in California ended its 2015 fiscal year with a surplus of $104,486, the twelfth consecutive year the orchestra has finished in the black. The orchestra reports that its “For the Love of Music” Transformation Campaign helped raise the endowment to more than $10 million with total assets valued at $15,673,000, also a record high. During the season, the orchestra reported $4.14 million in gross revenue, record single-ticket sales for its classical series, and record season revenues for its pops series. The Santa Rosa Symphony has also expanded its “It’s Elementary” school music program this year from two to five schools in Sonoma County, funded by donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Sixteen new schools applied for three new spots in the program, which went to Steele Lane Elementary, Helen Lehman Elementary, and Jack London Elementary. They join the Cali Calmecac Language Academy and Santa Rosa French-American Charter School, now in their second year of the program.
