ELIZABETH (LISA) RANSOM has been promoted to vice president of philanthropy at the Raleigh-based North Carolina Symphony. She was previously the orchestra’s assistant vice president of philanthropy for principal gifts, and before being named to that post last summer she served as major gifts officer at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Earlier experience includes administrative positions at North Carolina’s Winston-Salem and Greensboro symphony orchestras and at the Carolina Summer Music Festival. Ransom holds a bachelor’s degree in flute performance from UNC School of the Arts. She studied not-for-profit management and fundraising at Salem College in Winston-Salem and at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
