The League of American Orchestras is now accepting applications for two events focusing on conductors. The Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview is a prestigious showcase of talented conductors poised for music directorships and staff conducting positions at American orchestras. Over two days, up to six participants will conduct sessions with the Nashville Symphony at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tennessee under the guidance of the Nashville Symphony Music Director and 2001 Preview participant Giancarlo Guerrero. Industry professionals including orchestra executives, artistic administrators, artist managers, and music director search committees are invited to attend orchestra sessions and meet participants. The program will culminate with a public performance on May 11, 2016 which will be video recorded and available online for a limited time following the event. And on June 11 at the League’s Conference in Baltimore, Marin Alsop will lead a Conducting Masterclass with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Up to six participants will conduct one orchestra session with the Baltimore Symphony and have the opportunity to attend Conference sessions, conductor meetings, and networking events (June 9-11).
