Carlos Miguel Prieto, music director of the Louisiana Philharmonic, was among those receiving an Arts Council of New Orleans Community Arts Award for 2015. On December 2 at the Civic Theatre, Prieto was honored along with the other winners: Prytania Theatre impresario Rene Brunet; John Desplas, founding member and artistic director emeritus of the New Orleans Film Society; the Dirty Dozen Brass Band; photographers Keith Calhoun and Chandra McCormick; Yellow Pocahontas Big Chief Darryl Montana; Ogden Museum of Southern Art; actress Carol Sutton; and Clifton Webb, artist and co-founder of the Contemporary Arts Museum. The Community Arts Awards is the Arts Council’s annual event in honor of outstanding individual and organizational contributions to the cultural community in New Orleans.
