The Phoenix Symphony in Arizona has launched a “Tickets for Our Troops” initiative, formalizing its existing free-ticket program for active service members and veterans during the concert season. The orchestra currently distributes approximately 7,000 free tickets each season through the program. Through the initiative, current and new orchestra donors will be able to designate their gifts to the “Tickets for Our Troops” program, and area organizations can support the program through partnerships with the orchestra. Says Sam Young, president of the Veterans Medical Leadership Council and retired USAF Colonel, “I have witnessed first-hand the positive impact of the music on those who attended. Through this program, the Phoenix Symphony is expressing its appreciation for their military service as well as promoting wellness, stress management, and reintegration for those who protect our freedoms.”
