The Canton (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra has named VIVEK JAYARAMAN concertmaster. He succeeds JUSTINE LAMB-BUDGE, who recently left the orchestra to become associate concertmaster of the Kansas City Symphony. Jayaraman recently completed a four-year fellowship with New World Symphony in Miami Beach. As a concertmaster, he has worked with such conductors as Michael Tilson Thomas, Manfred Honeck, Gabor Takács, and Valery Gergiev. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic and is regular member of Switzerland’s Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. Currently pursuing an artist diploma in concertmaster studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Jayaraman holds a master’s degree in orchestral performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a bachelor’s from the Eastman School of Music.
