On February 16, the Dallas Chamber Symphony will perform a new film score by Jon Kull accompanying a live screening of The Goat, a 1921 Buster Keaton comedy. Artistic Director Richard McKay will lead the concert, with the composer in attendance, at Dallas City Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District. Also on the program will be Paul Moravec’s Chamber Symphony (2003) and Hindemith’s Kammermusik No. 1 (1921). Kull has previously orchestrated film scores by James Horner (Avatar), Elmer Bernstein (Twilight), Christopher Young (Spiderman 3), Marco Beltrami (Fantastic Four), and James Newton Howard (Maleficent). In addition to regular performances at Dallas City Performance Hall, the Dallas Chamber Symphony participates in educational and community programs in Dallas and presents Sight of Sound, an annual competition in which filmmakers to create short silent films that are set to and inspired by classical music.
