THOMAS HONG, music director of the Mansfield (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra since 2012, will step down from that post on June 25, 2016. He will continue to serve as artistic director and conductor of the University of Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra. A native of Korea who immigrated to the U.S. with his family, Hong holds a master’s degree in choral conducting from Temple University and an artist diploma from the Curtis Institute of Music. The Mansfield Symphony plans to announce a national search for Hong’s successor in the coming weeks.
