Pennsylvania’s Reading Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of CHRISTOPHER CINQUINI as conductor of the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra, effective next season. He will succeed PETER BRYE, who has held the post since the youth orchestra’s founding in 1989. Cinquini is currently director of orchestras and head of the music department at Boyertown (Pa.) Senior High School. Since 2011 he has performed regularly as a violinist with the Berks Opera Company in Reading, and was named principal conductor of the company in 2015. A native of West Chester, Pa., he holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s in orchestral conducting from West Chester University.
