GERARD GIBBS has been named executive director of the Reno Chamber Orchestra in Nevada. He succeeds SCOTT FAULKNER, who stepped down from the post last May. Gibbs was formerly managing director of the Key City Theatre in British Columbia, Canada. He has also served as director of artistic planning for the Akron (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra and executive director of the Empress Theatre in Alberta, Canada. An oboist, he has performed with the Duluth Superior (Minn.) Symphony Orchestra; with Baroque orchestras in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland (Ore.); and with Canada’s Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
