An article in the Tampa Bay Times that was excerpted on The Hub yesterday contained an error. The Tampa Bay Times article, published March 21, stated, “For the first time, the Florida Orchestra will go on the road with a new program of community residencies across Florida, the orchestra announced Monday. They’ll target smaller communities that don’t already have an orchestra in Avon Park, Daytona and Gainesville.” In fact, Gainesville is home to the Gainesville Orchestra, a professional orchestra that gives concerts, presents programs for students, and collaborates with local organizations. Evans Haile is the music director of the Gainesville Orchestra.
