The Rockford Symphony Orchestra in Illinois has renewed the contract of Music Director STEVEN LARSEN through the 2019-20 season. Larsen is now in his 25th season as the RSO’s music director. He was recently named 2016 Conductor of the Year in the professional orchestra category by the Illinois Council of Orchestras, which also recognized the Rockford Symphony Orchestra as Professional Orchestra of the Year for 2016. Larsen’s award was his third from the Illinois Council of Orchestras; he was named Conductor of the Year in 1999 and in 2006.
