The San Antonio Symphony in Texas will offer a free live simulcast of its April 29 concert on the Tobin Center River Walk Plaza outdoor screen. Guest conductor Jacques Lacombe will lead the program, which will feature Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp, featuring San Antonio Symphony Principal Flute Martha Long and Principal Harp Rachel Ferris. The program also will includes Smetana’s “Šárka” from Má vlast, Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen Suite, and Dvořák’s Scherzo capriccioso. The orchestra will also host a “Paint to Mozart” contest open to amateur and professional artists before the start of the concert, with entries to be judged during intermission; winners will receive tickets to an upcoming concert. There will also be an exhibit and auction of student artwork from the Symphony League’s Paint to Music winners, with proceeds benefiting the orchestra’s educational programs.
