The Hub on Monday, May 2 referenced an Agence France-Presse article published in the Singapore-based Straits Times about the date that the copyright for Ravel’s Bolero expires and the work enters the public domain.

Under the U.S. Copyright Act, Ravel’s Bolero remains fully protected through and including December 31, 2024. The term of U.S. copyright is calculated as 95 years after the date of first U.S. publication in 1929, not by reference to Ravel’s death in 1937.
