Chicago’s Grant Park Orchestral Association has announced three administrative appointments: FAREINE SUAREZ, marketing manager; HILARY MERCER, education and community engagement manager; and ALEX MARTINEZ, patron services associate.
Fareine Suarez goes to Grant Park from the University of Chicago, where she worked in digital media management and administration. Her background also includes experience in freelance stage management, event planning for the Chicago Fringe Festival, and performance with Chicago’s Bring Your Own Theatre Productions.
Hilary Mercer was a member of Grant Park’s production team last summer, and has worked in concert production and educational programming at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. She performs on violin and viola in several Wisconsin and Illinois orchestras and plays electric violin in a rock band.
Alex Martinez has worked at various theaters in Chicago and Philadelphia. He plays bass in several of Chicago’s community orchestras and is principal bass in the Chicago Metropolitan Symphony.
