On May 18, musicians from the Florida Orchestra will perform “Dances Around the World,” a free concert for patients at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, led by Principal Guest Conductor Stuart Malina. Music will include the Imperial March from John Williams’s Star Wars, Offenbach’s “Can-Can,” Johann Strauss’s “Champagne Polka,” and Leroy Anderson’s “Blue Tango,” with children encouraged to move to the music. The concert is geared for outpatients who come to the hospital regularly for treatment but are not staying at the facility, and is not open to the public. The performance is the orchestra’s fourth and final one this season in hospital settings, with previous visits to the Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa General Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Hospital-North, led by Florida Orchestra Music Director Michael Francis.
