ZAC EVANS has been named education and community outreach coordinator of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, based in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta. A composer, saxophonist, and educator, Evans leads the hip-hop/jazz ensemble Monkier, has performed with such groups as Brazilian Space Program and Memphis Train Revue, and teaches saxophone, clarinet, flute, and composition in the Atlanta area. He holds a master’s degree in jazz composition from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s in saxophone performance from Georgia’s Kennesaw State University.
