The Williamsburg (Va.) Symphony Orchestra has announced a three-year extension of JANNA HYMES’s contract as music director, through the 2018-19 season. This is her fourth contract renewal since the start of her tenure in 2004. Formerly known as the Williamsburg Symphonia, the orchestra changed its name this year to better reflect the professionalism of the organization. The new Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra moniker was unveiled last month at the final concert of the 2015-16 season.
