In Friday’s (6/3) Denver Post (Colorado), Ray Mark Rinaldi writes about “WAVE: Light + Water + Sound,” a June 2-5 festival “of illuminated, interactive installations, accompanied by music, dance and film screenings” in and around the Blue River Plaza in Breckenridge, Colorado. “There are big light festivals across the world in places such as Sydney and Amsterdam…. ‘The idea was to take that concept but align it with a historic, Victorian mining town,’ said Robb Woulfe, CEO of Breckenridge Creative Arts, the local arts agency that produces the event…. In all, six installations will heat up from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. every night…. Ryan Patrick Griffin’s tablet-generated ‘Projected Visions at the Blue River’ is an original work that transforms the Riverwalk Art Center into a giant outdoor canvas. His nightly paintings will be accompanied by sky high routines from Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance company and a program of contemporary classical music played by the National Repertory Orchestra,” the resident orchestra of the Breckenridge Music Festival, which this year takes place from July 14 to August 13 in Breckenridge, Colorado.
