The Conductors Guild has announced the appointment of JAN WILSON as executive director, effective June 1, 2016. Since 2013 Wilson has been president of Jan Wilson Arts Consultancy, LLC. She had earlier served as director of the Knowledge Center at the League of American Orchestras, and before joining the League staff in early 2000 was executive director of the Altoona (Pa.) Symphony Orchestra. A professional mezzo-soprano, Wilson holds a master’s degree in vocal performance from Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s in music education from Westminster College (New Wilmington, Pa.).
