Nedudim, a CD featuring Middle Eastern, European, and American folk music by Chicago-based Fifth House Ensemble, the Mediterranean folk band Baladino, and composer Dan Visconti, will be released on June 10 on Cedille Records. The San Francisco-based Cypress String Quartet has released Beethoven: Early Quartets, a two-CD set on the Avie label, celebrating the ensemble’s 20th year together. Conductor Zubin Mehta is the focus of a 23-CD set from Decca featuring his 1965-1980 studio recordings with multiple orchestras. In conjunction with Carnegie Hall’s 125th anniversary in 2016, Sony Classical has released a 43-CD boxed set, Great Moments at Carnegie Hall; the package includes a 104-page coffee table book with notes, facsimile documents, photos, and commentary from Gino Francesconi, director of Carnegie Hall’s archives and Rose Museum. The New York-based cellist Michael Nicolas has released Transitions on the Sono Luminus label, featuring new and recent music by Mario Davidovsky, David Fulmer, Annie Gosfield, Jamie Oliver La Rosa, Steve Reich, and Anna Thorsvaldsdottir.
