The Hartt School of the University of Hartford in Connecticut has announced the appointment of ELIZABETH COOPER as dean, effective August 15, 2016. She is currently director of the Hunter College Dance Program in New York City. She had earlier served as dean of arts at the University of Washington, and prior to that she directed the dance program at UW. She began her career as a performer with such companies as Matthew Nash Music and Dance, Connecticut Ballet, and Seattle Dance Project. Cooper holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in dance from UW and a bachelor’s in archaeological studies from Yale University.
