The League of American Orchestras has announced the appointment of SARAH E. KELLY as vice president for development. A fundraising professional with more than 25 years of experience, she has worked as a senior staff member or consultant with a variety of nonprofit organizations, serving most recently as vice president for advancement at West Virginia’s Wheeling Jesuit University. Prior to that, Kelly was the first professional director of development at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and upon her return to the United States she was retained by NUI Galway as the university’s stateside fundraising representative and spokesperson. She also provided fundraising counsel to a range of Irish institutions establishing a presence in the U.S., including the Druid Theatre Company, All Hallows College, and Abbey Theatre. Before establishing her own consultancy, Kelly was director of development at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum in New York City. She began her career in New York as an account executive at the fundraising consulting firm J.C. Geever, Inc. Kelly holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Purchase College in New York.
