The Delaware Symphony Orchestra has announced a $300,000 challenge grant from the Longwood Foundation to support its three-year strategic plan, with the grant contingent upon the DSO securing another $150,000 in commitments. The DSO’s Strategic Planning Committee, led by Chair David Kubacki, worked with key constituency groups to review the orchestra’s mission, craft a vision statement, and identify the orchestra’s core values, resulting in a plan adopted in February 2016 that envisions expanding the DSO’s programs and geographic reach and reintroducing family concerts and outdoor performances. The DSO will hold family concerts in November 2016, a performance of its Classics Series Concert 4 in April 2017 at the Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, and an outdoor performance in May 2017.
