The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has announced three concerts in its FUSE@PSO series for the 2016-17 season. They are “Bartók + Björk,” an October concert combining Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra and songs from Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk’s albums Debut, Post, and Homogenic; Tchaikovsky + Drake, a March program featuring twelve songs by Drake woven throughout Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5; and  “Mash-Up Mix-Down,” featuring the Time for Three string trio and the PSO in a variety of classical/pop hybrids. Steve Hackman is creative director of the series, which launched in June 2015 and has previously featured combinations such as Beethoven/Coldplay and Brahms/Radiohead. Concerts take place at 6:30 p.m. and are preceded by a 5 p.m. happy hour, with drinks allowed in the concert hall.
