On July 28 at 3:30 p.m., the Philly POPS Festival Brass quintet will perform in downtown Philadelphia at the Union League steps, at Broad and Sansom Streets, for the final day of the Democratic National Convention. The concert is part of the DNC Host Committee’s Avenue of the Arts performance series, with performances each afternoon during the convention at five different stages along Broad Street. Michael Krajewski is music director of the Philly POPS, which performs at the Kimmel Center and in local communities, schools, and other Philadelphia-area venues. The Philly POPS Festival Brass quintet has performed at Phillies games, Christmas tree lightings, the city of Philadelphia’s televised July 4 Celebration of Freedom ceremony, and Pope Francis’ speech on Independence Mall in 2015.
