This year’s Bang on a Can Marathon will be streamed live from 4 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. The marathon is taking place at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, Massachusetts as part of the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival from July 11 to 31, with John Luther Adams in residence as guest composer. Works to be performed include the world premiere of Ken Thomson’s Boil, as well as performances of Julia Wolfe’s Tell Me Everything, George Crumb’s Ancient Voices of Children, John Luther Adams’s In a Treeless Place, Frederick Rzewski’s Coming Together, Missy Mazzoli’s Still Life with Avalanche, Louis Andriessen’s Hoketus, and Steve Reich’s Music For Mallet Instruments, Voices and Organ.
