The Rochester (N.Y.) Philharmonic has announced four additions to its musician roster starting in the 2016-17 season: HANNA LANDRUM, principal second violin; NIKOLETTE LaBONTE, associate/assistant/utility horn; UNA GONG, section cello; and ZEXUN SHEN, section cello.

Hanna Landrum was recently with Ohio’s Youngstown and Canton symphony orchestras, where she filled roles as guest concertmaster and principal second violin. Landrum has also served as concertmaster of Brevard (N.C.) Festival’s Sinfonia and Chamber Orchestra. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a professional studies degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Nikolette LaBonte was most recently acting assistant principal horn in the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra and associate principal in the Hawaii Opera Theater and Oahu Choral Society. She is completing a bachelor’s degree at Rochester’s Eastman School of Music.

Una Gong has been pursuing her artist diploma as a fellow at the San Francisco Academy Orchestra. She studied there with San Francisco Symphony Associate Principal Cello Amos Yang and received the 2015 Academy Prize.

Zexun Shen, a native of Shanghai, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Mannes School of Music, where he served as principal cellist in the orchestra. He has performed extensively in the U.S. and abroad as a soloist and chamber musician.
