The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra will present “Symphony Rocks 2016: Wild Wild West” on August 18 at the Bluestem Center for the Arts in Moorhead, North Dakota. The orchestra will perform with the band Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome, with singer-songwriter Jessie Veeder and the vocalist Blind Joe (from the TV show The Voice). The concert will be preceded by a party featuring a barbeque buffet, cash bar, games, and raffle. Assistant Conductor Jane Linde Capistran will lead orchestral selections from the films How the West Was Won and Magnificent Seven, the theme from the TV show Wild Wild West, and “Buckaroo Holiday” and “Hoedown” from Copland’s Rodeo. The orchestra and band will be featured together in new orchestrations of songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Eagles, as well as Charlie Daniels’ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” featuring FMSO Assistant Concertmaster Sonja Harsim.
