Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts will host “Cultural Journalism Crystal Ball: A Look Ahead with Philly’s Top Arts Leaders and Journalists” on September 10 at 10 a.m. Howard Shapiro, a critic from WHYY/Newsworks radio station, will moderate the discussion, with panelists to include Philadelphia Chief Cultural Officer Kelly Lee, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance President Maud Lyon, Karin Copland of the Arts and Business Council, and Philadelphia Inquirer classical music critic and culture writer Peter Dobrin. The discussion is being held during the Center’s free open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., which also includes demonstrations on the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ, an Academy of Music chandelier light show, country line dancing and flamenco dance classes, and performances by the Philly Pops musicians and Pennsylvania Ballet II dancers.
